Help fix a bunged up Drain

A bunged up drain can be a problem and also a smelly mess. Worst still it might lead to more serious problems such as burst pipes or flooding. The quickest way to try and solve this is to nip out to the shop and purchase some Table salt, Baking soda and a cup of vinegar. Along with a boiling kettle in the problem area you should try these first.

.

Follow  a few more simple steps and clear your drains of grease, dead leaves and any other debris that might have been mixed up near the drain. They can be a expensive in the DIY shops but drain unblockers are a good way of sorting the problem but try the cheaper and easier way first with the boiling kettle  and table salt.

So start off by pouring half a cup of salt in the drain followed by the same amount of baking soda along with a cup of vinegar. Leave this to stand for about twenty minutes and then repeat. This should solve the problem but try again with this method and leave slightly longer.

If the problem is still there then call a trusted local plumber ( from TRADESCOPE ) to take a look and suggest the best way forward. If your drains are smelling; this is when you need to call your plumber and tell them that it is urgent as it is a health hazard.
